Kaolin or China Clay is a hydrated aluminium silicate mineral formed over millions of years by hydrothermal decomposition of granite rocks; chemically represented as Al2O3.2SiO2.2H2O.
Kaolin was first discovered in the hilly region of Jianxi Province in Southeastern China and derives its name from Chinese characters "Kao Ling" which means High Ridge.
In the 7th and the 8th centuries, the Chinese were the first to use Kaolin to make High Quality Porcelain. It was not until centuries later that the rest of the world could replicate the same.
Kaolin is chemically inert and finds application in various diverse industries.
At Earth Enterprises, we manufacture processed Kaolin in Lumps, Noodles and Powder form to match specific customer requirement.
Common applications of Kaolin include Ceramics, Paint, Paper, Rubber, Adhesive, Fiber Glass.
Apart from these Kaolin finds it usage in White Cement, Detergents, Textiles, Refractories, Insulators, Insecticides and Ultramarine Blue to name a few.
